Having not ridden a hardtail in over 6 years, i was taking a big gamble with my dream build as I wasn't 100% sure I would be able to make the switch to a rigid frame. But within minutes I was instantly transported back to my younger days having fun riding BMX as the bike feels so playful!
I live local to some DH tracks that local volunteers help fund/build, so naturally riding a hardcore hardtail, I thought I would put the Venetta X2 through it's paces. OMG It rides like a dream and combined with carbon wheels the handling is so precise. With the long and slack geometry of the Vendetta X2, I opted for a short 32mm stem which amplifies the precision steering. Riding a medium (16.7") frame at 5' 8" this feels spot on sizing for me.
The ride back home was flatish/uphill xc trails and it was a joy to ride even for long distances. The titanium frame saps the trail buzz I would normally get riding aluminium hardtails, and the ride quality is awesome without the weight penalty of a full sus.
My childhood dream of owning a titanium mountain bike is now realised without disappointment! This bike quite simply puts a great big smile on my face! I'm counting down the hours to the next ride. 😀"
